I think almost everyone on this thread is right about the sources of anger. Agree that the shift in gender politics and women gaining the right to work, own property, and manage their own money has left many men who were raised to believe it is their role (and god-given right) to be a head of household and take care of women and children with a feeling that they don't have a place in society anymore. I also think rampant capitalism in the US makes many if not most people feel angry at their lack of agency in life.

And then I think that political forces, especially MAGA, have found ways to harness that anger and foment more of it, to turn their "movement" into a rage production machine. So it just redoubles.

But again, it's not just men. It's just that men are more sanctioned to express it, especially via violence and violent rhetoric. But women are just as angry. Maybe more, because when people can't openly express anger (in healthy ways) it tends to eat away at them and get worse.[/quote]
