I don't think anyone thinks Lauryn was in on it. She may have known about it at some point though. If she knew about it or suspected it, she knew enough about her mother to know the woman did what she wanted. Lauryn couldn't have gotten her to stop. Lauryn's lack of reaction at the reveal was weird. It did seem she wasn't surprised at all. [/quote]

Lauryn seemed to be disassociating, and at the end starts crying. Lauryn endured years of abuse (emotional, psychological and IMO sexual via those explicit texts). Relentless abuse from the ages of 13-15. And these are just the years we know about. She had no autonomy, she was a literal child with no say in where, how or with whom she lived. I don't think any kind of reaction, under these circumstances, is weird.
