In other words, will the GOP keep Trump in office like they did with Reagan and the Dems did with Biden and Woodrow Wilson?
Gravy train ends when Trump leaves. I think they will continue to prop him up as long as they can. Cults die when the leaders die. Everyone hates Vance.
I don’t think Americans will tolerate back-to-back Presidents with obvious senior moments. I say Trump barely hangs on to WH up until midterms if economy is tanking. If it stabilizes or takes off by then, the GOP will continue to prop him up leaving Vance to wilt on the vine.
Then why did Americans elect people who were 78 years old at the start of a four year POTUS term in consecutive elections? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out people of this age can't be trusted as fit to perform the most powerful and demanding job in the world for four years. Apparently, Americans think they can tolerate unfit presidents.
According to dcum, the American voter is evil and/or stupid. Vote for democrats, stupids! Winning slogan right there. We are geniuses.
Anyone who thinks 80 year old people are the best our country of 340 million people can put forward to perform the very important job of leader of the free world is either a stupid person or a misguided person with zero life experience around elderly people. Both parties put unfit in The White House so this isn't party specific. All we can hope for is an effort by the American electorate to recognize the difference between presidential and not presidential going forward.
No, most Democrats don’t actually think this. What they do realize is that huge numbers of Americans don’t vote at all, and Independents supporting Third Party candidates splits the vote. In Biden, they went with a very established reassuringly (to some) white male — and won. The BEST of our country included people like Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris — who many of the more racist traditionalists couldn’t bring themselves to vote for. Yeah, I get that there are other reasons to not vote for these candidates, but it stands out that a wide range of people supported their policies - yet couldn’t bring themselves to vote for the women. As much as I hate it, pragmatic plans would have multiple white male potential candidates, actually multiple straight white male Christian candidates in the pipeline until the current Heritage Foundation apparatus can either be contained or becomes less appealing to people who aren’t being well-served by their goals.
