I had an acquaintance who was a Sr. VP at a major insurance company and, through no fault of his own, lost his job in 2007-2008 recession. He applied everywhere but he was also 55 years old and age discrimination is real. Finally, he took the only job offered which was at Costco as a dock supervisor. Stop with the nonsense that there are plenty of jobs because if you're overqualified and 55 years old, McDonald's isn't going to hire you! [/quote]
