I think this is abusive parenting.
I once called the police to check in a baby who was out in this circumstance. It would be far more damaging (psychologically) for an older child.
This is never the best option, for parents who are not drug addicted or mentally ill. Children should not be raised like this.
(Abortion would have been a much more humane option for all involved. I am talking to you pro-lifers out there, who act like they don’t have any responsibility for families winding up in this circumstance)

Well for one thing, both parents are there. So one could be home with the children.
If 'home' is a shelter they have rules about the times you have to be in and out of the facility, so no they couldn't. Meanwhile I bet you have no problem with 'both parents' shopping and dragging along 3 kids plus grandma in the Costco aisles?
There is no family with tiny kids who is forced to live in a shelter that kicks them out during the day. These people are placed very quickly in hotels. I am a NP, but yes, I would definitely have a problem with people forcing their infants/toddlers sitting outside all day in the cold.
+1
These “families” were likely dropped off by a van in the morning and will
He picked up and taken home later that evening.
These are organized scams. Don’t fall for it.

Abundant amount of of jobs that need filling out there.

No problem, go pick them up and take them to your home.
They aren't bothering you, Susan. Just turn your head and ignore.
Whatever, judgy-Karen.

I was minding my own business and then they waved a sign in my face. THEY engaged ME. They forced me to consider them.

I suggest you tell them to leave the rest of us alone.

Or do a search for both on DCUM
What does the family look like? Elyse was back in town and back to her old tricks this past fall. She approached me outside the Barnes & Nobles in PY.
If people don’t think land handlers can’t be scammers, then Elyse, her begging and her gofundme are laughing all the way to the bank. People absolutely do use their children for stuff like this.
This family is not Elyse Johnson.
Well no description has been given of the family AND plenty of people think panhandlers with kids would always be legit. And that panhandlers can’t do it long term. Guess again (since 2006 and still going strong)

I’ve seen this family. They appear Middle Eastern. Definitely have young toddlers. Doesn’t match the description of Elyse Johnson.

Anonymous wrote:What a disgusting mindset to brainstorm all of the ways these panhandlers “make so much money” and “should” be doing something else. What a shallow way to view the world.
