I keep seeing people say this should be a requirement, and it floors me because in every state I've lived and voted in, I always had to present my license to vote. I've lived and voted in VA, MD, MI, and PA.

So which states don't have this requirement? The only one I'm fully aware of is WV because I have relatives who live there who vote without a photo ID.

I'm all for needing to present a photo ID to vote, but a state issued driver's license or REAL ID should be sufficient enough. Especially because in obtaining a REAL ID, you have to present your birth certificate, so it goes off of that!

This will actually end up hurting many MAGA voters. For example, my elderly MAGA aunt & uncle are refusing to get the REAL IDs. They don't have passports - heck, they've never traveled to any state that didn't border their home state of WV. I have 5 MAGA cousins who do not have birth certificates. Their parents raised them "off the grid" and each was only issued certificates of live birth, which are not official documents like birth certificates. I know this because I spent over a year helping my one cousin try to obtain a birth certificate using her certificate of live birth so that she could get some type of official photo ID to take the GED. It was a long process and there's no way most in a similar situation would put in the work to obtain their birth certificate.

Also, on a tangent, it should be child abuse and illegal to NOT register your kid for a birth certificate. A certificate of live birth is pretty useless unless it was properly submitted to have a birth certificate issued. [/quote]
