When you factor in payroll taxes (which the wealthy hardly pay), property taxes, sales taxes, state income taxes, etc. the top 40% of earners all pay about 20% of their income to taxes. The other 60% of taxpayers? They pay less in taxes because the other 40% pay them extremely low wages.
