If you are accepted off the waitlist and knew before that you were not taking the spot, you are. This is not the same as original acceptances where they offer many more seats than are truly available since they know some will turn the spot down. Often it is only a few spots that opened on a waitlist - and certainly some people down the line could have had spots offered that would have been taken but for this game of just wanting to see if they wanted me after all. In fact…WashU sends an email to students before offering them a spot [b]on[/b] the waitlist asking for confirmation that the spot will be accepted before the offer is sent. It says congrats before we offer you the spot please confirm it will be accepted.

Did your kid click the button saying he would accept it? Without that, the waitlist spot does not officially turn into an offer. [/quote]
