The drive to the airport is the most dangerous part
Baltimore County police have been hobbled with a “no chase” policy, even for violent carjackings. Plus they now have so many other restrictions, they won’t help you and they don’t discourage crime anymore. Baltimore is dangerous gang territory. Dulles is definitely the much safer option.
Have you actually been to Baltimore County? Much of it is pretty posh and very rural. I know anything with “Baltimore” in the title incites fear and hysteria, but really? Also, BWI is in Anne Arundel County. I live equal distance from BWI and Dulles. Usually choose which one has the best time, route and fare. Surprisingly, United and IAD usually wins over BWI and Southwest, who loves to tout their “low fares,” but are often more expensive.
I grew up in Baltimore and I hate going to BWI but it’s not out of fear of crime. It’s nowhere near Baltimore City. It’s a $hit show to park there. Give me DCA any day. Or night.
