Bumping this up. I am seeing single digit temps with a high of 11 degrees for Tuesday next week. Now that is cold.
Has MCPS ever had a delayed opening due to cold temps? We have a lot of walkers at our school, and sidewalks are STILL not cleared (I understand building service workers are putting in overtime and doing their best but there’s so much ice and compacted snow, I’m just wondering if delays are ever considered for extreme temps).
By that standard schools would have to be closed for 2 weeks for 6 inches of snow. They didn't clean when the snow was fresh like most property owners did, so now it is going to be icy until it melts. It's telling that the icy patches I've run into are on MCPS properties. Perhaps they could procure some sand. It's available at local stores.
