My sister's kids in AZ started Aug 7 and will get out on May 22. School starts at 9 and gets out at 3:30. The kids can come from 8:30-9 for free breakfast for all, too.

Going 9:30 to 4:20 is such a long day and I hardly see my HS kid. She's always still asleep or just getting up when I leave for work, so at the most I see her for 15 minutes before school. I get home at around 6 and she doesn't get home from after school sports/activities until 7 or 8 or later if it's a game night. Then it's HW, studying, shower, and dinner... it's all a blur. I stayed with my sister in AZ recently while on a work trip and it was so calm after school, and they always got to eat as a family because sports and activities were all finished by 7 pm if not earlier.
