I went into nursing as a second career and never imagined I’d end up here, but I’m so happy I did. I have an undergraduate degree in English; went back a few years later for my BSN (did an accelerated program for students who already had a bachelor’s degree in another discipline), worked for 4 years in the ICU, then returned to school for my master’s degree in anesthesia. It’s a fun job and I love what I do. In general, nursing is a great field — so many options to work in so many different settings. I considered public health nursing for a while, and also nurse-midwifery. There’s just so much you can do with a nursing degree! [/quote]
