For some reason I went down a rabbit hole of the r/Conservative reddit group. It was pretty eye opening and terrifying. Regardless, if most conservatives feel the way those people do why don't we just get rid of the Federal government altogether and let people figure stuff out for themselves? I swear 50% of the posts were about how we should fire 80% of the federal workforce and how lazy and inept the federal workers were. So the idea is that we should put everything back to the states, remove the federal government and dissolve the "United States" is that what conservatives would prefer? Because without the Federal government what is the point of being a united states of America? Just become individual states that govern themselves.
Except, in general, state/local employees are more lazy and more inept.
Okay then just get rid of federal/state/local government and let people do what they want. You want roads and water and energy - get it yourself. Or make a commune with people of like mind and figure it out. What do people think government does? I mean I know conservatives think the government does nothing. So then deal with your life without it.
States will never have their own rights because it makes absolutely zero sense. What, are you going to take a driving exam in 50 different states in case all of the laws are different? Think about all of the consumer products. What, is a company going to make 50 different version of it to meet 50 different states' requirements? That will never happen. There is a limit to states' rights. Most people aren't that extreme and realize we need national policies set by the federal govt to have uniform standards for many things.
Wow, you are not making a strong argument with this post, are you? States do "have their own rights" as the tenth amendment makes very clear. Driver licenses? Seriously?
