I’m voting for Weiss and Kathleen. They have been by far the most thoughtful in responding to the issues I care about. As to the person who thinks Weiss is disingenuous for identifying as a dem without running in the caucus, he explained (and I believe) that the SB vote to increase compensation made it feasible for him to retire from Virginia schools to run. At that point it was too late for him to enter the caucus. The timeline and logic checked out to me.
That's fine, but then don't advertise yourself as a Dem.
Technically no one is running as a Dem. There are no party markers on the ballot. If he is in fact a Dem there’s nothing stopping him from telling people that.
Technically perhaps, but it's misleading. He didn't enter or win the Dem caucus but is advertising like he did.
The Dem Caucus exists solely for the endorsement of Arlington Dems and a listing on the sample ballot they hand out. That’s it. It does not determine who is and is not a Dem in the non partisan race. This is why everyone hates the Arlington Dems organization btw. Bunch of aholes. There will be plenty of low information voters blindly following the sample ballot because it’s a presidential year. Your candidates will win anyway.
