Emory>Vandy>WashU>>Rice Rice is decent but doesn't compare.
I'm a finance professor who spend years teaching at one of those schools and others. You can get a fine education at any of them. FWIW, Kerry Back moved from WashU and is at Rice now. There is a coherent logic behind attending schools like Georgetown and Virginia with a good placement pipeline. Do you want your kid to end up in Atlanta, Tennessee, the Midwest, or Texas? In any case, don't let him choose his own major or career. It would be a tragedy if he got an actual education and pursued his passion to become a doctor, engineer, or egg-headed professor.
