The trips are our "gifts" for all these things like anniversary and Father's and Mother's Days.

I guess the upshot here is: If you're in your earlier years of marriage and/or have younger kids -- the whole Mother's Day-Father's Day-Anniversary-Valentine's etc. thing gets greatly mellowed over time, so look forward to that. We mark these days, but we just don't worry about physical gifts or having to do something elaborate (or even simple) ON the actual day. [/quote]
