I doubt any club will take you to court or put you into collections, but I have seen them hold your card, sometimes long enough for the next club to give away your spot.
If you are a new player to the club, they don't have your card. Who has experience with this post tryout season? I've heard the club doesn't register you until deep into the summer. It can't be that a club has claimed you to their roster for the fall while the Spring season is still underway. Wondering how this works especially with NCSL and EDP.
You sign a legally binding contract. It's pretty open and closed case. It has nothing to do with your player card. They have retainer lawyers and filling out the paperwork/submitting it is easy. Especially certain DMV clubs... Look at how many coaches have ended up in league troubles this season alone. But if you want to risk it, go for it. Horrible advise for unsuspecting parents tho
