I have emailed the finance admin to ask if I can use the McLean deposit towards summer camp or keep as credit for future use. Has anyone done this. She is new to MYS so probably does not have a card. Wanted to know if anyone has used the deposit as credit for future use or camp use. Or just lose it and cancel recurring payment to successfully switch clubs.
You always lose deposits.
Is playing on a 4th arlington team better than a 2nd mclean team is the real question

Seen the last minute 'package deal' A LOT over the years...sometimes the coach is with them too.

You must not know how clubs work. They screw over kids all the time. I know two kids who were on the second best team only to be moved down to the third best time because the coach wanted two players who he knew from the lower team. No warning. Nothing. This occurred this past winter. It was a blow to the face for the two kids and parents.
Also, very common for clubs to leave roster spots literally empty in case they can recruit and steal a better player from another club. Clubs have zero loyalty to the kids. I've always taught my kids, at this age, to look out for their best interest unless it's something illegal or immoral. Clubs don't care if you leave especially clubs like MYS where there is a list of 20-30 kids who didn't get an offer more than happy to jump at an empty spot.

We already know he'll get an offer after MYS tryouts, but he's seriously considering trying out for Arlington and seeing if he can play with his friends from there. With Arlington being next month, if he accepts MYS spot can he just drop it if he ends up deciding on Arlington next month? I assume we'll lose the deposit for his spot.
No you should stick with the team that you committed to. They expect you to come otherwise they might have invited someone else.

Does anyone have experience successfully leaving without paying the full year's fee? That seems awfully excessive, esp if you haven't started the fall season.

If you are a new player to the club, they don't have your card. Who has experience with this post tryout season? I've heard the club doesn't register you until deep into the summer. It can't be that a club has claimed you to their roster for the fall while the Spring season is still underway.
Wondering how this works especially with NCSL and EDP.
