Just like applying for a job. You see it posted, but as an outsiser you may not know the hiring manager already has someone in mind. In club soccer, if you're in the know, you know to go to practices before tryouts. My rising U11 plays for a top area team and he's had different kids at every single one of his practices for the past several weeks. They are also playing up 9v9 and the coach has guested a few kids from the lower teams for games this spring. It's pretty obvious who he's considering to move up next year.[/quote]
