[/quote] UVA is a safety for the very top handful of kids at high schools who get 25-30 kids into UVA each year. Yes it is hard data the school counseling office publishes. The problem is a lot of students think they are near the top with their 4.2 weighted despite that being around average at some Virginia high schools. Scoir reveals gpa ranges at the top to be much higher but parents do not investigate as much as they should and schools do not rank officially anymore. And for this group of kids, UNC is a "match" not a reach, with about 40-50% of the very top kids getting into UNC OOS. [/quote]
