I'm the PP whose husband learned to cut my hair from YouTube. I wore it in a pixie for years and short hair is perfect for an "experimental phase" because it needs to be touched up so often, if you mess up, try again next time. (My husband eventually got better at my pixie than the stylists I went to pre-covid.)

I wouldn't cut off six inches as an experiment though. Long hair is riskier. That's why I need a stylist now - if i screw it up at home, it'll be months before I get back to baseline. [/quote]
