Personally on our tour NEU and BC's tours stood out. The campus vibe was just different. Tufts is a great school. Just like there are a million model of cars for sale, it suits a particular person. I would have been thrilled if our DD got ended up going there. Sometimes I don't think the real world exists here. It is almost impossible to get into Tufts RD, its SAT scores are tops, yet we have multiple posters acting like it becoming a junkpile of a school.
We toured BC and Tufts on the same day. DC really liked BC and didn't like Tufts Maybe he would have liked it better if he'd seen it first or on a different day. You never know what makes the difference. DC applied to BC and was accepted but chose another school in the end.
We liked the neighborhood around Tufts better than BC; it seemed like there were more walkable destinations. But for sure the campus is terrible. Everything looks like it was built in the 70's-80's. My DC didn't want to apply but I made him just because he really wants to be in Boston.
