Looked like a school rapidly going downhill. There was nothing attractive about the info session or the tour or the campus or the students we saw.
The campus is not great, the info session was terrible. But the name recognition and Boston are always going to keep it popular.

That’s how my DC feels about Tufts, but I am certain I would have loved it at the same age .Anonymous wrote:Why the hate on Tufts? DCUM seems to pick a few schools and just pile on, for no reason. Last time I checked Tufts is broadly respected, the students who attend are whipsaw smart, the outcomes are good.
Now it's a roach infested turd of a school...

Can you elaborate about their engineering approach?

Just like there are a million model of cars for sale, it suits a particular person. I would have been thrilled if our DD got ended up going there. Sometimes I don't think the real world exists here. It is almost impossible to get into Tufts RD, its SAT scores are tops, yet we have multiple posters acting like it becoming a junkpile of a school.
We toured BC and Tufts on the same day. DC really liked BC and didn't like Tufts Maybe he would have liked it better if he'd seen it first or on a different day. You never know what makes the difference. DC applied to BC and was accepted but chose another school in the end.

Or a very cautious (or athlete) kid's ED.
Tufts was the one campus I saw a ton of sweatshirts from other schools. I hate that.
