I've seen nothing but people angry about this on here. There really were people denying this was an issue?
The site owner occasionally makes comments that insinuate the people who post about crime are delusional and concerned about nothing lol.
He tried to shove this issue under the rug for years. No idea why. He had always seemed reasonable before. It is as if he lost his mind trying to prove he was virtuous. Well that attitude lulled people and destroyed the city. Nothing virtuous at all about it.
Sadly it is not uncommon for people to ignore reality and data in order to support their ideological beliefs. The irony here is that more crime disproportionately hurts poor and marginalized people more than the wealthy. Ignoring crime because here it’s the affluent white moms who post about it is not “virtuous” and is the definition of a luxury belief.
Since moving to DC I have astonished by the breathtaking hypocrisy of the wealthy who espouse “progressive” values that actually hurt the underprivileged people they claim to help. All of the studies and data indicates that crime and criminality hurts poor people the most. They are much more likely to be victims or crime. But the affluent hear will scoff if you mention this fact and sweep crime under the rug while talking about defunding the police and restorative justice.
You just described the DC Attorney General.
