A 5-carat diamond ring runs $20K or more.  To those wondering about people who are bitter - no.  I'm not bitter.  I - and I'm assuming others here - just can't get over the gall of people who think that a $20K engagement ring is no big deal.  Do you watch the news?  Do you have any fucking idea what a flippant bitch you sound like making these comments when the average household income is around $50K/yr and so many people are out of work?  Have a little self awareness - not to mention awareness of the reality of the vast majority of people in this world that is totally different from yours.  I'm guessing this PP is the same bitch who posted asking people to explain being "poor" b/c the poor "fascinate" her.  Your unmitigated gall fascinates me.[/quote]

Lady, I (and the OP) can do whatever the hell we want with our money - for all you know, the OP has also donated $20K to charity this year.  And for your information, since you've chosen to judge me, I'm the person that you quoted, and my engagement ring actually cost less than $2000 and contains no diamonds.  [/quote]
