The difference is, the others actually asked hard and confrontational questions, AS OPPOSED TO what Tucker does, which is to support Putin's propaganda and serve as a mouthpiece.
You haven't even seen the interview yet. Tucker does a lot of fawning interviews that are difficult to listen to. I listen to him precisely for that reason. His messages are so far from the baseline of normal journalism that they represent a true challenge to the status quo and also require listeners to be truly critical of their own perceptions. For example, Alex Jones is genuinely a bad influence on the world. Tucker did an interview of him and called him a prophet. It was gross, but I also had to be honest with myself about a few things I had uncritically accepted, especially regarding him being deplatformed, debanked etc. If he does a fawning interview of Putin, it will likely have the same effect as the Alex Jones interview. People will listen and reject a lot of what they hear, but some of what they hear will represent additional info that may provide color and texture to the issue. And I think that, in fact, is what is so threatening to the left. From 1984. "In the end the Party would announce that two and two made five, and you would have to believe it." There are people who are pro democracy on the left and the right. There are people who are anti democracy on the left and the right. A free press is essential to democracy. If you are advocating for Tucker to be shut down, have travel restrictions etc because he gave an interview to Putin-- who has been interviewed by the western press countless times and was even on the cover of Time for man of the year-- then you are not pro democracy. You are pro tyranny, just the tyranny that you find acceptable. The person that everyone wants to sanction here is Tucker, because he cannot be controlled, because he might say wrong think. That is a truly tyrannical stance.
