The money comes from the sketches that go viral. I just looked up Adam Driver and SNL. His Career Day sketch from a few years ago has more than 20 million views. And SNL will have hundreds if not thousands of sketches and bands all generating advertising dollars. I suspect SNL is more profitable now than it ever has been. Anything even remotely funny gets blasted on social media. I'm sure there are cumulatively a lot more eyeballs on SNL material now than in 1988. [/quote]
