24 years in, My DH knows I don’t like flowers as a gift. I’m not into jewelry or candy or teddy bears either. But I do buy flowers for our house about every other week because I like the way they look. These are cheap grocery store flowers though.

My good friend on the other hand loves when her DH buys her flowers and jewelry and things she already told him she loves and wants (with their joint funds). She is expecting for him to buy her a gift for Christmas, Valentine’s Day, birthday, Mother’s Day,  anniversary, etc. She loves receiving  gifts and buying small gifts for her loved ones.

My love language is “acts of service”, and my DH knows that. :) I feel that he loves and is thinking of me  when he gets my car washed or fills it up with gas, when he is riding by the dry cleaners and calls to ask if I had anything there that needs to be picked up, when he buys my favorite ice cream treat from the grocery store when he’s out buying beer, etc. [/quote]
