OP here - gone out for some fresh air, sorry for making this post, but the prayers are hopefully helping and I needed to get all the things in my head out when being stuck in a waiting room. Shortly after my last message we were both allowed in as the doctors had done all they needed to at the start. We were moved shortly after to children's intensive care, they were concerned with the effort she was taking to fight it and wanted to be ready to take over her breathing. The infection has been quite resistant to the antibiotics, but we have seen a stop to the worsening of her health, but she is very sick at the moment . She's quite sleepy and not with it so i hope she isn't suffering. The doctors are hoping to see improvement through the night now, but as her body is tiring they may have to take control of some parts for her . I'm really hoping it doesn't come to that. I'm sure you appreciate my lack of messaging with my daughter. But the prayers and help of the fantastic medical team are hopefully working. Regarding the questions on sepsis. It came from ab infection from the surgery wound, very unfortunate. We were told of the sepsis signs and should have taken her somewhere as soon as the fever took hold as a red flag. It can come after any big sickness or injury I think but is quite rare. To the nurse on this thread, thank you for the support. How long will it take to get better for her. Not as in hospital discharge well, but then symptoms going down. And thank you for the positive messages of recovery of others who know or have had it. It means a lot
