Yes, it is. I wouldn't never walk or jog there or Glover Archbold alone as a woman, or likely as a man. They found other bodies in Rock Creek while they were searching for Chandra (who they found eventually).[/quote]

Off topic but I don’t know how someone would get away with a murder and/or hide a body in RCP undiscovered, unless it was in the middle of the night or during a snowstorm. I have never felt unsafe in any part of Rock Creek and no trail seems remote enough for screams or altercations to be unheard. I never go more than 3-5 minutes without seeing another hiker.

There are way more remote trails in Montgomery County that you could actually get lost in and maybe not be heard if you cry for help. But certainly not RCP in DC. I guess it may have been different 20 years ago?[/quote]

If it helps you to better understand, there was also a woman who was attacked, raped and killed in that tiny patch of wooded area (I believe) by Canal Road in Georgetown?: "Warrick, now 60, is suspected of killing 29-year-old Christine Mirzayan in August 1998. She was sexually assaulted and murdered as she walked to her home in Georgetown. Her body was found near Whitehurst Freeway." You can look up her case. Chandra was dragged not far off the trail, bound with her leggings and murdered. You can probably be disabled fairly quickly with no screams or altercations by someone determined. It really stinks to be a more likely victim in America, woman, child (girl or boy), slight man, etc. I resent that I am upping my risk walking late at night or in secluded areas alone. I should be allowed to walk where I like. I wish I was free. I feel so very not free in Washington DC. the irony.
Please be careful as you jog the park without a partner. Take all the things, do all the things.
