These are gorgeous, but not very big.  If OP is replacing a tote, I assume she wants a bag that can hold a lot.  What about and XL Flamenco?  It may not be light enough but is roomy.

NP.  The Loewe flamenco was going to be my suggestion too (it does come with an adjustable, detachable strap).  I think it's so stunning and versatile; I love the way it looks as a crossbody.  [/quote]
