Yes, of course. Coaches prefer players they know, have coached, like, and are familiar with. Are you new to human nature?

favoritism is common in human nature, not new to me 
new player who ranks 6/10 has to be top 5 in order to make team over previous players ranked 7 8 9 10?
thats not a team or coach I'd want to play for or with if I had choices

Coaches aren't going to mess with team chemistry for an unknown kid who the expect to only get limited minutes. If you have a 9th or 10th player who doesn't complain about minutes, practices hard, and is popular with teammates, you aren't cutting them for another kid who may be better, but would still be the 9th or 10th player [/quote]

most of you have a rude awakening in high school or aau if you ever get there and certainly not beyond
