No its not.  A hit means he reached base safely.  Which, if the bases are loaded, means its a walk-off win.

"hitting the ball with the bat" is not a hit.  That's just a ball in play.  A hit is when the batter reaches base safely without any errors by the defense.

Whatever. Hit by a ball is a guaranteed base and with bases loaded there's a run scored. So, lean in![/quote]
