Republicans continually use the abortion discussion as a political tool to bind the conscience of Christian voters; the Christians feel they MUST vote Republican or else they are sinnning. Republicans take advantage of this to get votes, then do whatever they (Republicans) want to do in office in area that are not related to abotion. So yes, the abortion issue matters.[/quote]

It’s posts like this that make me convinced that Republican voters are straight up lying about abortion.

When Republicans gain control of state government, they ban abortion. Period. It’s like a law of nature. Look what’s happened in other states with unified Republican control. Here in Virginia, Youngkin has vowed to sign “any bill … to protect life” that reaches his desk.

Many Republican voters know this, so they’ve resorted to lying to everyone else about what they really want and what the Republicans they vote for plan to do. Republicans lie about abortion when it’s convenient. Youngkin even admitted he can’t tell the truth about it during a campaign.

Let’s look at Republican actions. They ban abortion whenever they can.
