I am really doubting college kids only being able to plank for 90 seconds? I am not sure, maybe I will test myself later! But I did a peloton class last month where I did one minute in high plank and then directly into one minute side plank on each side and did that without a break (it was hard and yes each arm gets a break) but I feel like totally fresh I could get to 3 minutes pretty confidently? It might just be a practice thing, I do core classes all the time and hold one minute planks as a matter of very regular exercise. I feel like one minute is STANDARD. I know I can do 2.
I took my college athletes on to my yoga class, and he thought he was gonna die. So yes, a college student who gets up at 6 AM every morning and lifts with trainers, and then practices three hours a day running with the team cannot do my one hour yoga class.
