I challenge all new posters to actually max out a plank right before they respond. No way these PPs are true.
To this posters credit I am in good but not spectacular shape (ran a 10k in 1:04:38 last month, 38 YO woman, BMI 28). I thought I was in the 3 minute range but just actually got on the floor and crossed the two line but was struggling at the end.
I am amazed by the 5-10 minute people, are you on your knees by any chance? I do a TON of core and cardio and planks and was disappointed in myself!

Anonymous wrote:I know I can a minimum of 1 minute because that's what we do in barre class, my guess is max 2 mins. 58F.

I posted up thread about my friend saying exactly what you said so I got on the floor and planked for 10 minutes. Why is it so hard to believe that it's just not that hard for some of us? She runs 5-7 miles and I can't run 500 feet to save my life. It's all relative.
Lol. On the internet, everyone can plank for 10 minutes.
Here are some averages, for perspective:

PP, you somehow planked twice as long as an elite athlete.
LOL next time I'll make sure to film it so a total stranger on the internet will believe this completely insignificant fact. But you have to promise to watch the ENTIRE 10 minutes.
and, yes, I really did plank for 10 minutes on my forearms.
Nobody believes you.
Lol exactly. You can do it right now. Video 10 min plank and put it on YouTube.
It will take 30 minutes tops.
Well I am at work but could do it tonight. but then you'll accuse me of stealing someone else's video. You are welcome to come to my house and watch me do it but you have to bring wine.

I am not sure, maybe I will test myself later! But I did a peloton class last month where I did one minute in high plank and then directly into one minute side plank on each side and did that without a break (it was hard and yes each arm gets a break) but I feel like totally fresh I could get to 3 minutes pretty confidently?
It might just be a practice thing, I do core classes all the time and hold one minute planks as a matter of very regular exercise.
I feel like one minute is STANDARD. I know I can do 2.
