Give the front office a written document that states they are running over 20min behind schedule, that your appointment has been voided, and that the office will be charged a $100 fee for wasting your time.
I really wish this was possible. Many patients lose money when they go for a medical visit. Or get parking tickets because the doctor ran late, etc. It is not right that only their time is perceived as having value. I know sometimes they are late beyond their control, but they do not build this into their scheduling at all because they don't want to lose a DIME for downtime.
Correct. They schedule too many patients because they want more money and they think nothing of making you wait for way longer than the fifteen min grace period they allow patients before they flat out cancel their appts.
Exactly. This is a huge problem. I call to double check that doc is running on time for my appointment. I also ask what I should expect is the maximum duration of my appointment. When arriving, tell them what time I need to leave for my next appointment. No doctor’s time is worth more than my time.
