I think TikTok is the absolute worst and has no redeeming value.  It gives a platform to people whose thoughts would be better not shared with the world.  It gives an outlet to people who want to do stupid challenges for the attention.  It's contributing to terrible behavior by kids and adults.  I don't have TikTok myself, but anytime I've looked at a video embedded in an article, I feel dumber by association.  It's also run by China.

My DCs use Snapchat to communicate with their friends.  It's a very different kind of social media than TikTok.  [/quote]

I respect your opinion, truly, but most of TikTok is not videos of people doing stupid things. I follow a lot of academics, authors, special education advocates, attorneys, teachers, journalists, etc. No all are not great, but I imagine that if you read books or watch news or read articles online, you have enjoyed the content of people who are on TikTok. And people were posting awful pranks on YouTube well before TikTok came around. I am not saying that the concerns about china aren't valid or that you need to download the app, but I just wanted to let you know what the app is actually like before you make assumptions about people on the app. [/quote]
