There are many videos of parents throwing a piece of cheese at their kid's face or on their head just for laughs.
The worst ones were when parents would tell their child that they were going to fight another parent and needed their DS/DD to fight the other parent's kids. Really awful. Some were fake, but some the kids were actually scared.
What?! I don’t have TikTok and don’t keep up with any trends, so this is new to me.

We're not rich enough to waste eggs so won't be trying this anytime soon. Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:This world is a disgusting void.

Social media is toxic.
If you know that, can you explain why you are giving your tweens and teens cell phone and letting them use TikTok, Discord, Snap, Insta?
Seriously, why? Can anyone explain??
I don't let my kids have those apps, but the more I read research about social media and adolescents, the more I think they aren't as toxic as they are made out to be. Yes, social media can exacerbate pre-existing mental health issues, and it makes it easier for kids to go down scary rabbit holes like the video-game-to-alt-right pipeline. That's why I don't let my kids have it. But I don't judge other parents who make a different choice because I don't think it's always bad. I personally am more concerned about technology and our increased intolerance for boredom, and just getting rid of social media doesn't necessarily solve that problem.

Even my spouse would be upset by this. Consent is important with these types of "pranks".

I think TikTok is the absolute worst and has no redeeming value. It gives a platform to people whose thoughts would be better not shared with the world. It gives an outlet to people who want to do stupid challenges for the attention. It's contributing to terrible behavior by kids and adults. I don't have TikTok myself, but anytime I've looked at a video embedded in an article, I feel dumber by association. It's also run by China.
My DCs use Snapchat to communicate with their friends. It's a very different kind of social media than TikTok.

She's increasingly cringe and posts her kids way too much. Her little girl seems to do everything for her mom's camera.
