You found out about a party and asked and they said "you're welcome to come" - you weren't invited but they have room. They are moving into a new house and thinking about a housewarming party and while kicking around ideas realize they're talking in front of someone without having invited them yet - they're just catching themselves and making it clear that you will be invited. I want you to come could also be a full-throated "It won't be a party without you!" or a "shoot, they found out they weren't invited and now I have to pretend I forgot about them."
