I’m 48 and shoot for roughly 1500 calories a day. I don’t measure/count anymore—though I did for awhile to see how much I was eating. I’m 5’6” and 125 pounds, which I’ve been my whole life, save for the past 3 years when I gained 15 pounds. I started counting to rein things in and so I didn’t have to buy a new wardrobe. I found it easy to lose at this caloric range. Not sure if I’ve stabilized, but that’s my goal.
How much exercise with this? im 48 as well, at 1500/1600 with 30-60 minutes of exercise dai;y, i started counting when i dropped from 160 to 135, still not sure if i can increase a bit to maintain or this is what need to stay on.
For the past 6 months, I’ve been exercising almost daily (mostly for my mental health). In addition to walking, I have a little gym set up in my garage where I do about 30-45 minutes a day of something resembling HIIT that probably isn’t. I do a mix of cardio (jumping jacks, box jumps, skaters, high knees, etc.), plus body weight exercises (squats, lunges, glute bridges, push-ups, etc.), but we just got a squat rack, so I’ve been slowly adding in more weight training. Still a newbie with that, though.
