Just me personally, I would choose Clarksburg over Damascus. Clarksburg is more diverse, closer to 270, and stores/restaurants/groceries. Depending on where in Clarksburg you buy, your kids will go to Clarksburg HS or Seneca Valley HS. Both are decent schools. They don't have the name brand as Poolesville or the Ws; but both offer far more programs than Damascus. Both are big enough schools that your kid can find their group. Moreover, if your kid is smart and has a good head on their shoulders, they will do well in either school.
Parts of Clarksburg may be rezoned to Damascus HS in a few years, when their addition is done.
And that’s really going to be interesting to witness. You think families didn’t want to go to Seneca during the last boundary study and that was a brand new Hs. They would choose Seneca everyday and twice in Sunday over Damascus.
Part of Clarksburg is already zoned to Damascus HS, and at least a few years ago, enrollment fraud from that part of Clarksburg was common enough that my kid at Clarksburg HS had multiple friends who were supposed to be at Damascus HS.
