Depending on where in Clarksburg you buy, your kids will go to Clarksburg HS or Seneca Valley HS. Both are decent schools. They don't have the name brand as Poolesville or the Ws; but both offer far more programs than Damascus. Both are big enough schools that your kid can find their group. Moreover, if your kid is smart and has a good head on their shoulders, they will do well in either school.
Parts of Clarksburg may be rezoned to Damascus HS in a few years, when their addition is done.
And that’s really going to be interesting to witness. You think families didn’t want to go to Seneca during the last boundary study and that was a brand new Hs. They would choose Seneca everyday and twice in Sunday over Damascus.

Hallie Wells MS is already split articulated between Clarksburg and Damascus. Maybe they'll just send the whole school to Damascus.

We cannot wait! We are in rural Clarksburg or Hyattstown or wherever they call us and would love to get out of Clarksburg HS or Germantown HS and go to Damascus. My kid is super sporty and wants to go to a HS with a great sports program and a small-town, rural feel. My eldest goes to Poolesville HS and absolutely loves it!
where's Germantown HS?

We have a kid at BASIS. So that's what I mean by "good." Strong academics. Decent peer group.
Well if they take a bunch of AP classes it will be similar.

Anonymous wrote:Another plus one for Olney. Damascus is full of mom-cliques at the sports scene and far too many narrow minded folks. Another nice area is Laytonsville but your kids will go to Gaithersburg HS. Some are ok with that if you feel you can keep your kids on the right path and in the right classes (away from “trouble”)
