[/quote] The tricky thing for these production companies like HBO is that they ARE successful remakes of books - Game Of Thrones, Bridgerton, Mad Men, etc. So, by their logic, it's a win-win. No need to spend time and money on a script (bc there's already a published book series) and there's a natural curiosity from the public to see a book come to life on the big screen. - ie money.[/quote]
