These schools are so close in prestige and education value and cost …that the kid should totally just decide on other reasons. 1/3 of the classes will be specific to the major, and most of the curriculum will overlap between schools (even if one is more quant or theoretical than the other). A lot more of the 4 years will be spent taking non-related classes and other requirements, making life-long friends with other students, hanging around campus, dating, sleeping in the dorms, attending functions, pick up sports. studying in the library, etc. Recruitment is similar too. Not many companies that hire a kid with a degree from one would not hire that same kid from the other. I def understand. But Sometimes we parents overthink this. [/quote]
