It's only worth it if you love the bag. I fell in love with Mulberry nearly 15 years ago, before they had as large of a presence and recognizability in the US. I carried my Mulberries and loved them. Still do. They were/are worth the money to me because I love the craftsmanship. They were also "worth it" in the sense that because of the great materials and craftsmanship, they've lasted way longer than any fast fashion bag would have. I carry my bags for me, not so they can be recognized by some stranger.
Look, I like Mulberry fine, but this whole post is so absurd. You think this is an under-the-radar IYKYK brand?! Anyone with any fashion awareness knows the Bayswater is a version of the LV Neverfull “first bag you buy when you can afford a nice bag” bag.
+1. I lived in London and Mulberry is oversaturated. All the 20-something working girl types carry a Bayswater. Also, Mulberry/Smythson/Aspinal of London are not in the same league as Chanel/Prada/LV. You can get the former for $1-2k, while the latter will run you at least 3k these days.
That’s right they are different leagues but one is a nicer everyday bag with good taste and the other just screams status symbol that isn’t especially attractive and is not better quality, and in some cases worse (looking at you Prada).
