This accident (if it happened the way OP said) was a result of negligence, not the Idaho Stop. The Idaho Stop
means you slow down and verify it is safe to proceed. In any event, car drivers fight tooth and nail against changes intended to make driving safer. And I still don’t laugh when they crash. I call 911. [/quote]

It's amazing how people are so ignorant about the Idaho Stop. All it means is you don't need to come to a dead stop and put your feet down. Any decent cyclist can slow to 1 mph while still in/on the pedals. [/quote]

What is amazing is how many cyclist think the Idaho stop means they can blow through stop signs with the right of way. You don’t have to stop IF the intersection is clear. Idaho stop doesn’t mean every car yields to you. [/quote]
