As someone who experienced poverty after having been MC/UMC my whole life, people really treat you (and your kids) like crap when you’re poor.  I know most on DCUM have no idea, but it is absolutely true.  I’m UMC again by the grace of god, and the difference in how I am treated now and how I was treated then is just incredibly different.
