Actually the home schools are getting the student funding and don’t provide anything and virtual academy is funded through other resources which is why they are short staffed and not equal to an in person school.  There are no staffing shortages, just not enough funded slots for more staff.  [/quote]

But why are they funding homeschool for kids who attend VA? Wouldn't it be prudent to not ask people to enroll in homeschool if they apply to VA?  What kind of crazy stuff is going on at MCPS now a days?[/quote]

“Home school” here = the school you’re zoned for.  Totally different from “homeschooling” (parents teaching their own kids), which MCPS does not fund.  [/quote]
