Pared down toiletries - brought as much solid stuff as possible (deodorant, sunscreen, makeup) and transferred liquids to small jars.

To visualize how my bags looked - one side of the Away bag was shoes, toiletries, medicines, hat. The other side had half of the clothes. The backpack had the other half of my clothes plus electronics and snacks for the plane.

On the plane I wore joggers, a T-shirt and sneakers. I washed a few pair of underwear in the hotel sink with shampoo - no issues there. I used the hotel provided shampoo, conditioner and body lotion and wore lots of ponytails and buns.

The carry ons became critical when our two hour connection became 5 minutes and we made the flight bc we had no checked bags.

(We did check a bag coming home bc of purchased liquid gifts. Was not concerned about it being delayed, but it was not.)
